Editorial team and method
Pierre Gobert has worked the Belgian gambling beat since 2016 and verifies every claim focused mainly on land casinos. Works from Namur.

How we test. we create a player account ourselves, put an amount in via Bancontact, pull the money out and time the whole route. We check the operator against the Gaming Commission's white and black lists and check what the terms actually say.
Weekly limit, age bar and exclusion
The Belgian legislator approaches player protection more strictly than most of its neighbours and it is built that way on purpose. Each site automatically applies a €200 weekly ceiling. Adjusting downwards works right away, raising happens neither easily nor instantly.
Self-exclusion in Belgium is handled centrally, through EPIS: one registration excludes you at once from every licensed operator, online and on-site. Unlicensed sites are not connected to it. The age bar moved on 1 September 2024 from 18 to 21 for casino, hall and betting; scratch cards and Lotto stay at 18. A trial account falls under it too.
